Anna E. Phile Miller Anna E. Phile was born February 9, 1920 and came to Delanco with her parents Dane and Violetta Miller in 1923. She became active in Dobbins Memorial Methodist Church. She joined the US Navy WAVES March 1, 1945 and served until May 1946. She served with the NAS unit in Corpus Christi as an air traffic controller, attaining the rank of SP(Y) 3rd Class. After the war she trained as a commercial artist where she met Herman J. Miller. They later married and moved to Third Street in Delanco in 1959. Anna worked at Wanamakers department stores for over 40 years as manager of the gift-wrapping department for all of the stores. Anna was active of an all-female American Legion Post 350 and served as the post commander. Anna and Herman were also active in Delanco Seniors.
